Xanax Party is a collective of DJs active since 2005, with years of experience in national and international clubs behind them.
Along the way they have become known and respected for the authorial cut and eclectic nature of their memorable dj sets. The Xanax Party DJs have always shown themselves to be contemptuous of musical restrictions, and with their selections they bring to life a club experience that extends far beyond the conventions of club music.
The collective was one of the main protagonists of the last few seasons of the Murazzi, passing through many Turin and Italian clubs and spending ten years in its (ex) own club Astoria in the San Salvario district.
Over the years, the Xanax Party has become an icon of Turin nights, embracing several generations of fans.

WHO ARE THE DJS AND HOW DID THE EVENING EVOLVE?
Gabriele Guazzo and Andrea Nissim founded Xanax Party in Turin in October 2005, Alessandro Blangetti joined them on a permanent basis five years later.
We were always Thursday night residents, until 2010 at Murazzi, Magazzino sul Po and especially Puddhu Bar for four intense seasons. In between were forays at Spazio 211 on Saturday nights with the monthly one-night Loser and many other evenings in clubs and festivals around Italy and beyond.
The DJ sets are often introduced by live performances by emerging bands, carefully selected from among the most interesting newcomers on the scene, to support and promote emerging national and international music.
In 2011 Gabriele and Andrea became members of the Astoria and, until the pandemic, the evenings only stopped during the summer months when they often took place in single club nights or within festivals.
Behind the scenes, the two founding members collaborated for the next ten years on Astoria's artistic direction, taking care of Xanax Party in particular, and coming into contact with some of the most important booking agencies.
At the same time, together with Alessandro, they continued to promote independent music and make several hundred people dance every week.

"XANAX PARTY"?
Many of you asked us why we chose the name of the evening.
In the mid-00s, spam mails were circulating from a well-known pharmaceutical company producing anxiolytics, one of whose warnings was to '...not to make a xanax-party...'. The rest is history and so, in antithesis, we found ourselves...making it.
We would like to remind you that under no circumstances do we promote the use of anxiolytics, let alone distribute them during the evenings, and it is understood that under no circumstances do we wish to be ironic towards those who use them.

HOW CAN I PLAY WITH MY BAND?
We deal directly with the booking of like-minded, mostly up-and-coming bands.
If you know a band or are part of one and would like to play at one of our gigs, send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we will get back to you!

HOW CAN I DJ AT XANAX PARTY?
You can send us your mixes, strictly live, to our e-mail address and after listening to you, if we like the records you play, we will not hesitate to contact you!
The Xanax Party is a continuous club night (at least until the pandemic) and it is very important for us to maintain a certain musical balance within the DJ sets.
We usually put on records in twos or threes for 4-5 hours or more, every now and then we have hosted other DJs who knew the mood of the night and enjoyed creating unconventional mixes as much as we did.
We tend not to invite DJs who can't hear the track or who prepare DJ sets with blinders on without any elasticity. The Xanax Party needs DJs who know how to change selections abruptly so as not to bore the audience with single-issue sets.
The musical selection is the key aspect, much more than djing technicisms.

HOW CAN I BOOK XANAX PARTY DJS FOR MY EVENT?
Easy, hit us at [email protected]
You can ask for us as a trio, duo or even hire us individually with different costs. We each have our own artistic sensibilities, but we express ourselves best when there are at least two of us and we can manage the various stages of the evening together.
If you are interested please send us as much information as possible about your club night, even if it may seem trivial, the details help us to understand which records to arrive with, what we should expect and above all how to set your dancefloor on fire.
Don't hesitate to contact us also for exhibitions, presentations and openings, aperitifs and events other than pure clubbing.

DO YOU PRODUCE REMIXES?
Yes, both remixes and mash-ups, especially Alessandro and Gabriele (who has other projects -Stato Brado, Jacamar Ensemble-), but it has never been our first activity because the time in musical research and organising the club night and Astoria has always been
greater than the time dedicated to production.
If, however, you are interested in having one of our remixes because you feel that our attitude can go well with your track, you can write to us and if the track excites us we will not hesitate to reply.

What kind of music do you play?
Every type of music that exists has value and that is why none of us have favourite genres. We are an eclectic night because we believe that music is a continuum regardless of genres.
So, answering the question, unless there are special situations, we play dance music.
By dance music we mean any song that can be danced to. The panorama is quite broad considering that there is more than a century of recorded music to delve into, as well as new releases.
Anyone who has been to one of our nights knows that there are times when they will hear the latest throwaway dance-pop hit and that they will probably hear tunes that are unlikely to be played in other club nights. Basically it's about taking musical risks, seeing mixes where others don't and having fun.

Musical Universe
The musical universe of Xanax Party is extremely vast and constantly expanding. We have always had a hard time explaining to people what Xanax Party is musically because it covers all the music we love and propose through genres that are also very different from each other but united by the same attitude.
Attempts to summarise our artistic references in a few lines have always been difficult, so we decided to put together a non-hierarchical list of artists we love, admire and follow.
Many are famous, many others are names unknown to most, and still others we have managed to have as guests at our evenings or at the Astoria.
There also follows a list of the most important venues and festivals to which we have been invited to play as guests over the years and a player with some of our mixed selections.
We hope that this ever-evolving section will help the public to understand who we are, what we play and, why not, to discover new tidbits unknown to most.

Pics
We were among the first, at least in Turin, to have decided to take photographs with some continuity during our evenings, not without receiving criticism. The intention was to exclusively document the evenings when we had artists as guests. We soon turned our gaze in the direction of the dancefloor, realising that the audience was the real driving force behind the imagery of the evening.
Every eccentricity or party moment was 'rewarded' by a shot regardless of gender, colour or sexual orientation.
A free shot, not at some anonymous soiree, at the Xanax Party!
The reflection of our lives on social media, that of almost everyone, did the rest as the seasons passed.
Only now do we realise that we have an archive of thousands of photographs of our parties that spans several generations from the mid-zero years onwards and traces the evolution of a small piece of our city and modern times. Thanks to the photographers who have followed over the years and thanks above all to you who have danced and continue to do so! Thank you.
Unfortunately a lot of shots, especially those from the Myspace period have been lost. Hey Justin (Timberlake), give us back our photographs!
However, should you have kept, for whatever reason, any shots from the 2005-2010 era of one of our parties, please feel free to send them to us at this address: [email protected]. If it's not compromising, we'll publish it!
Below you will find a rough selection of the most evocative photos representing the transversal style of our events, including artists, friends, us DJs and lots of people dancing and having fun. Almost all of the galleries can be viewed directly on our Facebook page, while we have started publishing them exclusively on our Telegram channel since 2023.

Flyers
Flyers are an art, there is a veritable literature about it.
Andrea and Gabriele are part of that generation that grew up with fanzines and 56.6 kbit/s internet, mimeograph flyers and Myspace. The era at the turn of the new millennium was perhaps the last time when the flyer was fundamental to building an identity (we still believe this today) and preparatory to word of mouth during the inexorable rise of social media.
Our flyers have always aimed to attract attention at first glance. Thus, over the years, various partnerships have been formed with some of the most like-minded streetwear realities such as Hannibal Store, Frav, Fresh Store and Into The Wild, which have generated a fruitful promotional synergy.
Below you will find a selection of many of our flyers, with and without brand-sponsors. Unfortunately we have lost some over the years so this is a constantly updated section.
Should you be in possession of one of our flyers that you don't find below, and have five minutes to spare, please feel free to scan it and send it, front and back, to the email: [email protected]
Thank you! We would really appreciate it!
